LPGA Golfer Dottie Pepper visits Voorheesville
Elementary School
(May 17, 2012) World renowned golfer Dottie Pepper conducted a golf
clinic with students at Voorheesville Elementary School on Wednesday,
May 16.
Pepper, a Saratoga Springs native, played on the LPGA circuit until
injuries curtailed her career. She retired from golf in 2004 and went on
to a successful career as a golf broadcaster, which she continues today
on NBC and The Golf Channel.
Pepper’s visit was part of Voorheesville's participation in the First
Tee Golf Program, which brings the sport of golf into the physical
education curricula. This program was sponsored by NYSUT and a grant
received from the Voorheesville School Community Foundation.
