Voorheesville voters approve school budget, three propositions

Blow, Straut elected to Board of Education

(May 16, 2012) District residents voted in support of the 2012-13 proposed budget by a vote of 647 to 329. The $21.87 million budget for Voorheesville Central School District represents a $602,181 – or 2.83 percent – increase in spending over the current year’s budget.

Timothy Blow was re-elected for a second term on the Board of Education, and Diana Straut was elected to the second vacant seat on the board.

The three propositions put before voters also passed. The bus proposition passed by a vote of 640 to 336; the building project reserve fund passed by a vote of 637-328; the repair reserve fund passed by a vote of 702-262.
