(July 7, 2010) Voorheesville Middle School
celebrated its annual right-of-passage on June
23 as 97 eighth graders became official high
school freshmen.
Middle School faculty and
staff presented the Class of 2014 to an audience
of proud parents and family members in the
Performing Arts Center. Awards were presented in
the categories of: Exceptional Achievement with
Distinction, Exceptional Achievement,
President's Award for Educational Excellence,
President's Award for Education Achievement,
Kiwanis Scholarship Award, Kiwanis Citizenship
Awards, Kiwanis School Improvement Award,
Knights of Pythias Achievement Award,
Outstanding Achievement Awards, SADD SCholarship
Award, and AHPERD Leadership Awards.
The ceremony also recognized
Student Council members for their leadership and
student representatives. A number of notable
mention awards went to students for demeanor,
willingness to assist others, positive behavior,
contributions to the school community, among
others.
