Middle School works on Peace Pole

Some students and staff members at Voorheesville Middle School are currently working on creating a Peace Pole for the school.

Several students came up with the idea after attending the Youth Leadership Summit at Sage College in March.

Although the pole is still being planned, those working on it hope to decide the number of sides, the languages it will have on it and where it will be located before the end of the school year.

Peace poles have, “May peace prevail around the earth,” written on them in several languages, which are typically chosen for their significance to a particular school or organization that is building it.
