Welcome to the High School's Counseling Center. Our goal is to assist children and their
families throughout high school.
Guidance and advisement as to course selection,
academic programs, and career planning is offered between ninth and
twelfth grades. As students prepare for life after high school,
attention is placed on the options of college, employment or military
service. The college selection process involves choosing a school that
meets the abilities and interests of each student. We can also assist in
the financial aid process.
Counseling services address personal crises, peer
interactions, and other issues of mental health. Consultation services
include assistance in parent/teacher communication and referrals to
community resources.
The school psychologist is an integral part of our
team of counseling professionals. She works with students and families
who may be experiencing academic, behavioral, social and emotional
difficulties and helps generate plans to help students succeed in the
academic environment.
News
Junior Night is Feb. 16
All 11th-graders and their parents are invited to
attend our annual Junior Night hosted by the High School Guidance and
Counseling Department. We will be reviewing what colleges are looking
for in prospective students, tips on finding the right college, SATs and
ACTs, and all other things related to college!
We hope you can join us in the High School PAC on Thursday, February 16,
starting at 7:00pm.
Juniors and their parents will also be receiving a letter in the mail
with a pre-scheduled date and time for their Junior Conference in March.
This conference is meant as a follow-up to Junior Night and will allow
more time for individual questions and to review specific information
about your junior.
