Computer Tools 6, taught by Ms. Wademan

Students are introduced to the touch method of typing. They will also use Microsoft Word to learn the proper way to format various word processing documents.

This course is an introduction to the computer including keyboarding. Students meet every other day and will spend the majority of that time learning the Touch Method of Typing. Every finger is in charge of certain keys, and the key is not to look at your hands.

Course Outline:

Keyboarding:

Students will learn the alphabetic, numeric, and symbolic components of the computer keyboard. This area of instruction includes proper keyboarding techniques and formatting skills. The emphasis will be placed heavily on accuracy, speed improvements over time, and proofreading/editing skills. The demand will continue to grow for students to be prepared with proofreading, editing, and composition skills.

Grading Policy:

You will be given a Pass/Fail grade based on classwork and participation. There is no homework in this computer class so I expect you to work hard the whole 40 minutes we are in class.
