Students should study at a desk or table, in a quiet area. They should have all their materials handy - paper, pencils, pens, erasers, books, and dictionary. Homework should be completed at home. Studyhalls should be used to re-read or review material given in class. Here are a few tips to remember:

  • Use your agenda book as an organizing tool!

  • Study time should be scheduled daily.

  • Do the assignments that are hardest for you FIRST.

  • Assignments should be done on the day they are given, not the next day in study hall.

  • Time should be allowed for long-range assignments and projects.

  • Class notebooks should be kept in order and up-to-date.

  • Learn to REVIEW and RECOGNIZE key topics and works (SQ3R)

Middle School students should be expected to have at least an hour of homework to be completed at home each night.
