Students get ready for Hunger Games

(March 15, 2012) The C. A. Bouton High
School Library in conjunction with the Voorheesville Public Library
presented a Hunger Games special event in the library after school on
March 8.
About 40 middle and high school students came ready to have some
fun and prepare themselves for the upcoming Hunger Games movie release
that’s scheduled for later this month, Friday, March 23.

Jeopardy Night
At the middle and high school's Jeopardy Night held on
March 13, the final match came down to the student team of JD Springer,
Allegra Fasulo, Sawyer Cresap, Joe Guerette, Maddie Canfora and Claire
Guyer beating out a team of middle school faculty led by Principal Jim
Franchini.

The Voorheesville High School Drama Club, The Dionysians, will
be presenting Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s production of "Little Shop
of Horrors" on Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31 at 7:15 p.m. and
Sunday, April 1 at 2:15 p.m. in the Lydia Tobler Performing Arts Center
at Voorheesville High School. Tickets will be available at the door for $10/adults
and $8/students and seniors.

process of transitioning to the GMail e-mail system. New e-mail
addresses for middle and high school faculty and staff went into effect

"Little Shop of Horrors"
Ads and sponsorships for playbill requested by
Feb. 17
The Voorheesville Dionysians, the high school drama
club, is busy rehearsing "Little Shop of Horrors." The production is
scheduled to run March 30, 31 and April 1. As a means of supporting the
drama program, the Dionysians sell ads in their program and seek
donations from the community. If anyone would like to donate or place an
ad, please submit the form by February 17,

Four Voorheesville students winners in Times Union Holiday Card Contest
(Jan.
5, 2012) Four Voorheesville students have been selected as winners
in the Times Union's annual Holiday Card Contest. The artwork of
Carl Treiber, grade 7, Kaylynn Lawson, grade 11, Ilyssa Simsek, grade
12, and Faith Cunningham, grade 9 are among the winning entries chosen
from each grade level, K-12. Faith was also the grand prize winner
overall.

VCSD launches Parent Portal at the high school
Sign up sessions Jan. 9 and 13
(December
2011) Parents of Clayton A. Bouton High School students now have the
ability to access their child's report card, progress reports,
assignment grades and more through a web-based application called Parent
Portal. Parents who were unable to attend the Dec. 6 and 7 information
nights can sign up for Parent Portal access on Jan. 9 (4-6:30 p.m.) and
Jan. 13 (4-6 p.m.) Unlike previous information nights, these sessions
will not include a presentation about Parent Portal. Please be sure to bring photo
identification with you to activate your student's account.
