Get Acquainted With the Library Media Center...

The Library Media Center is opened from 8:30 a.m.-3:40 p.m. for student use. Students may come to the library during the school day for research or book selection with the permission of the classroom teacher. The library aide and library parent volunteers are available to assist students when the librarian is teaching a scheduled library class. The Library Media Center offers a pleasant environment intended to nurture  the development of a lifetime love of books and reading in our students.

Our Goal:

  • To satisfy both our teachers and students needs with an up-to-date, comprehensive library collection that supplements and deepens the curriculum.

Our Motto:

  • We strive to provide a place where faculty and students can find the information they want and need. If we don't have it, we'll try to get it.

Library Staff

Mrs. Zemser, the Library Media Specialist, and Mrs. Seh, the library assistant, are available from 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 a.m., Monday-Friday.

We may be reached by phone at (518) 765-2382, Ext. 520 (please leave a message if we are unavailable) or by email at azemser@vcsdk12.org.

The Library Media Center Program

The primary aims of the Library Media Center Program are to promote an understanding of the value of reading and the library and to teach the children the many resources available to them in the center. All students Gr K-5 are scheduled for a weekly library class. During this class the librarian spends time developing library skills based on grade level subject curriculum and literature appreciation. Additional time is spent on browsing and book selection by the children. Books circulate weekly.
