New York has just instituted its first statewide
book award. It is very aptly entitled The 3 Apples Book Award. The
purpose of the first round of preliminary voting was to establish
fifteen nominees for the award. The second round asks voters to read
three of the winning nominees and cast a final vote in December.
All Gr 3-5 classes voted for their favorite book during library
class in the first round of votes in March 2006.
