I have been learning quite a bit about food
allergies this year from a number of different sources. This month I
thought I would share some of what I have learned and how some of
this may affect the way we do business in certain situations to make
sure that we do our best to keep all of our children safe.

Fifth-graders create their own continents
After studying in detail the world’s geography,
fifth-graders at Voorheesville Elementary School used their newfound
knowledge to craft continents of their own.
“Create
a Continent,” the final project of the fifth-grade unit on
geography, requires students to take abstract geographical concepts
they learned in social studies class and apply the terms to a unique
continent that they create.
Students were required to include basic elements, such as land,
oceans or mountains, but they were encouraged to be creative about
the theme. While some used candy or skateboards to make an original
land mass, others made continents about comics, Harry Potter or
Disney.
